Shawnee Peak Race Team - Accomplishments
After the first round of 2010 qualifiers,
Curtis Paradis, 12 years of age, is ranked 9th
in the state. Top 12 boys qualify for Future Stars
post-season event and join the best young skiers in
the northeast. Carly Sandler, also 12
years old, is ranked 11th; top 10 girls qualify.
Among 13 - 14 year
olds, the goal is to qualify four SPRT athletes for
Eastern Junior Finals in Sunnapee, NH.
PJ McDonald, Sam Hamilton, Kuba
Chandler and Noah Lobozzo are all in
contention.
Congratulations to Erin Paradis who was
runner up in both Slalom and Giant Slalom in the
state of Maine high school championships.
Congratulations to all
SPRT athletes who qualified for post season! The
competition is tough and many of the skiers we race
against are attending full time race academy
programs. This is particularly true when considering
the results at the 13 - 14 age level (J3s). Well
done and keep up the hard work!
Mileage on skis is important. Good coaching and
mileage is more important. Mileage, good coaching,
and a self-motivated athlete is most important of
all.
